Tom Dillmann is a French professional racing driver who has participated in the Formula E World Championship, the GP2 Series, the FIA World Endurance Championship, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. He is best known for being the first French driver to win the German Formula Three Championship (2010). Tom Dillmann Facts
He began his racing career with go-karts in the minime and junior classes. Tom competed with karts between 2000 and 2002 and won a regional title. He also achieved 4th position in the French national karting championship.
Tom made his single-seater professional debut in 2004 at the Formula Renault 1600 Belgium series where he competed for his family-run racing unit named Tom Team. He finished the season placed 5th in the overall drivers’ standings.
He had to miss the opening race of the 2007 Formula 3 Euro Series after a crash during pre-season testing had left him nursing a broken sternum and vertebra. Tom returned to the competition despite the severity of his injuries and managed to finish the season in 9th place.
In the 2009 German Formula 3 Championship, he finished in 6th place despite competing in only 6 races.
He had finished the 2012 GP2 Series in 15th position and was the highest-placed driver among those who did not compete in the entire season.
